The late David Bedford OL (1937 - 2011) Print E-mail
Crowned with the Grace of Years, the piece of music commissioned from David Bedford by Lancing College for the final musical celebration of our Founder's bicentenary, and proudly sponsored by The Lancing Club, was given its premiere performance at St John's, Smith Square, London on Friday 16 March. David sadly passed away on 1 October 2011 but he completed the work in his hospital bed the day before he died. Allison, his widow, said that David was extremely pleased that his last composition should be for Lancing, and he saw it as the completion of the circle that was his musical life.
